- Two straight does not quite make it a tradition, but I think three would do it. Shall we make it so?
- Sally and I will host the basic booze foundation: Vodka, Tequila, Rum, Gin plus a few specialty liquours plus mixers. Others contribute foremost by their participation, however, it would be oh sooooo nice to have some
hors d'oeuvres, as with last year. Volunteers? Would it be possible to revive some aspect of the Buns n'Dogs idea for this?
- We thought last year was much better than the first because more people showed up, people dressed up - Burning Man appropriate, of course - and thanks to Fred, the music was perfect.
- Friday has been the day for the first two, but Thursday is ok for this year. Friday has seemed to work, though.
Invitees same as before: all AOXOMOXOA and friends but not all of BRC.
- Comments? Suggestions? |

Then a tradition it shall be!
I'd be happy with either night. I think we did Friday to allow for late arrivals. If everyone plans on being there by Thursday this year, it might me a nice option, since Friday can be otherwise hectic. Either way, it'll be outstanding.
I agree with the invites... as last year... Aoxomoxoa Friends and Lovers.
My friends Dove and Josh will be joining Aoxomoxoa this year, and are also looking forward to our little shindig. We've discussed bringing Buns-n-Dogs to the playa, but just can't seem to work out the logistics of getting fresh hot dogs there, and keeping a carload of buns from spoiling by the weekend. So I'm sad to report, we won't be doing our B&D exchange. We will however gleefully contribute hors d'oeuvres and whatever beverage options we have with us.
I will also be happy to provide some fire spinning for your entertainment (I've been practicing
We're almost there.

Everything at camp is a tradition, even if happening only for the first and last time, simultaneously.
That said, I'd personally opt for a Friday cocktail party, so that we can apply the two or three hours of lubrication it takes to arouse all Aoxomoxoans, get them on their feet, and get them moving out of camp en masse for the burn... Though that might in itself abrogate a tradition or two.
In other news, I just came across this nifty USGS 3-D image of playa dessication cracks.

At least I think it is 3-D, unfortunately I don't have the right glasses to view it. Or something. |
